About GiGi

Gevrina Catalina, also known by GiGi, currently works for a NFL and MLS team in Los Angeles. As of 2018, Gevrina Catalina became the first sideline reporter for the Los Angeles Football Club and simultaneously the first bilingual female team reporter for the Los Angeles Rams.

She is a first-generation Colombian/Yugoslavian born and raised in Southern California where she was immersed in the sports and entertainment capital from the very beginning. From an early age, Gevrina Catalina loved to perform and she became a child actress and model at the young age of four. Her passion was to help by sharing stories and connecting with people -- it all started with television voice overs for brands in Spanish and English. 

After attending the biggest sports high school in Southern California, Mater Dei, she was recruited to UCLA as a Division-1 athlete (rowing-coxswain). Gevrina Catalina earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Film, TV & Digital Media while co-hosting the syndicated sports-talk show Bruin Talk and co-anchoring for the local news program for three years. 

From there, Gevrina Catalina worked as the reporter for Nike, where she spent 2 years traveling the globe, hosting city-wide events and interviewing 100’s of athletes and celebrities.  

Following Nike, Gevrina Catalina co-founded a sports media company producing humanizing athlete series through one-on-one interviews and exclusive features. She also remained proactively enhancing her craft with Time Warner Cable as a sideline reporter covering high school football and the NBA. 

Then in 2015, Gevrina Catalina linked up with the Spanish Sports & Entertainment department of the LA Times - Hoy Deportes as the west coast female reporter where she connected with celebrities and athletes from the NBA, MLB, UFC, boxing and more. She's hosted the HOY Red Carpet Awards at the Dolby Theater and and covered the ESPY’s. 

In 2016, she co-hosted ESPN radio broadcast "Deportisimo LA”, covering all Los Angeles professional sports including basketball, boxing, soccer, and highlights of Liga MX.

Then in 2017, Gevrina was picked up by Fox Deportes as the host of the sports series “El Arte De Ganar” which featured one-on-one episodes covering professional athletes training, nutrition, and psyche--athletes including Canelo Alvarez and more. She has also been featured as a sideline reporter for Premier Boxing Champions on FS1.

Nowadays, you can find Gevrina Catalina in Los Angeles touching gloves with World Champion boxers to golfing with NFL players. In her free time she volunteers as a pre-natal yoga instructor for teenagers recovering from substance abuse. She loves to travel and has visited over 30 countries.
